More tatting

Here is the pinwheel pattern by Mary Konior from her book "Tatting with Visual Patterns". This is tatted with Lizbeth size 20, color 104. I think this variegation detracts from this particular pattern. I'm not a big fan of white in variegated threads, but it was still fun to tat! Didn't have enough thread on my shuttles several times for this, so have lots of thread additions in this project! I have the 11 new Lizbeth colors ordered and they should arrive soon. I'm looking forward to playing with those.

Your spinning wheel mat is lovely, even if your variegated detracts a bit. You should try it with one variegated thread and one solid. Bet that would showcase the thread(s) AND the design to perfection.

I really like this one. I think you're saying you don't like this color so much, but this is probably one of my faves of this pattern I've seen. It's not so much of the same old same old.

I like the individual colors of this thread and how the thread looks on the ball, but I don't like whites in most variegated. If it had been a pale yellow, I would like it much more. The tatting pattern itself shows up much better when this is on a darker background. When on a lighter background, all you see is the variegation.

I always find individual preferences fascinating! Every one has their own taste and I enjoy hearing what people like and don't like.
